There’s a huge difference between building a website and using a website to grow your business. The vast majority of ad agencies and design firms are going to offer to build a website for you. You will hear words like strategy thrown around. You will probably be told you need to create a Facebook page and get involved with social media. But, at the end of the day, you are going to go through the process of building a new website. Then, it’s just going to sit there – doing nothing.
We take a very different approach. Rather than simply building a website, we use the internet to grow your business. Your website serves as the central hub of your online presence and we use social media, content marketing, and email marketing to stay continually engaged with your audience.
Why Are You Doing This?
Before you even think about what your website is going to look like, you have to answer the question of why you want a website in the first place. Of course, the ultimate reason is to bring more attention to what you are doing and grow your business. But, in order to be successful, people have to care.
What is the benefit a person will get from having discovered you? In other words, how are you going to make someone’s life better? This isn’t your mission statement. This is a sentence – or even a phrase – that cleanly defines what you are doing.
The reason this is so important is because this sentence is the cornerstone on which all of your online properties are built. Everything you do will ultimately point back to this purpose.
The Internet Is Active
The difference between the standard approach of building a website and our approach of using the internet comes down to keeping your business active online. This doesn’t necessarily mean you – personally – have to spend all day sending emails and posting to LinkedIn. We can automate many things to keep your business active online without consuming your time.
Working With Us
When we start working together, there are three phases of the process.
1. Messaging and Branding
Like we already discussed, the first thing we do is clarify what we’re doing and – most importantly – why we’re doing it. This starts with conceptual planning and leads into business identity and branding. The discovery process we go through together to crystallize our understanding of your business will naturally lead into developing a logo design to reflect your message.
2. Developing Online Properties
Your main online property is your website. We’ll take the messaging and branding and build out a technical masterpiece that not only conveys the uniqueness of who you are but is accessible both to people and search engines. In addition, we will point you towards the social media channels that are right for your business and apply your design and brand there as well.
3. Using The Internet
Now that we have set the stage, it’s time to draw the crowds.
Email Marketing: The single most powerful and profitable form of online marketing is email marketing. We’ll show you how it works and help you create content that will draw people in and keep them coming back.
Content Marketing: The primary hub of your content marketing will be your blog. We will help you discover topics to cover on your blog. We can also help you write the content. In addition to blogging, we will show you how to create your own videos for a YouTube channel. Video marketing is rapidly growing and it’s not as hard to do as you might think.
Social Media: As you create content for your blog and YouTube channel we’ll help you get that syndicated across the social media channels that are appropriate for your business. You don’t have to be on ALL of the social media platforms. We’ll help you figure out which ones are right for you. Then we’ll help you keep them fresh with engaging content.
Monetizing Your Website: Ultimately you want your website to be a profitable tool for your business. Whether it’s driving leads, affiliate sales, or ecommerce, we will set you up with the tools you need and help you think of new ideas for making money with your website.
We know ecommerce. In fact, we built an entire ecommerce platform for WordPress, Cart66.
